Hello my name is Hetty Wolters and I’m from the Netherlands.
The work and mission of Voices 4Peru has a big place in my heart and I can’t stand the idea that this mission would stop for some reasons and leave the kids involved in the work of the organization on their own. I love to see how the organization becomes like a family to many of them. My desire is to be part of this mission, as far as my circumstances makes this possible.
I met Daniel Klopp at a conference in the Netherlands, where he spoke about his life and mission in Peru. Immedately I was touched by his story and the children of Las Lomas found a place in my heart. Daniel and I kept in touch on internet and soon my husband and I decided to support his mission. We support two children at this moment , one at the privatschool of Voices4Peru and an older kid. We also founded a dutch foundation to support the mission: Voices4PeruNederland( the Netherlands)
Daniel asked me to come over and meet the children. In preparation for that trip I received a dream to give art classes to the children from las Lomas. My dream is that a group of artists will come forth out of Las Lomas that will make art from trash, because trash is everywhere and free available. And Las Lomas will become famous, because of the art.
This is the third year that i work here as a volunteer. The first year we made drawings and were focussed on the basics of drawing. The second year we worked with watercolor. The kids loved this very much so we decided to work with watercolor again this year and with girls . The materials are donated by ” the Royal Talens Foundation” in the Netherlands.
Because none of the kids have any experience with art, they need to learn to think as an artist. First 2 dimensional and later 3 dimensional. Later we shall work with trash under the name of ” make treasures of your trash”. I hope to come here many years to make art with the kids of Las Lomas.
